I apologize for nothing

The wrong way, but faster.

Why I don’t read the metromusicscene message board all that often anymore

Just got this awesome message, reminding me that I should really rethink all of the World Records I’m going after:

Beware of Guiness Book of World Records
Howdy all, Having read their agreement, I have terminated my bid with the Guiness Book of World Records as having written the most yodeling songs ever, for the following reasons listed below. REMEMBER, the only entity that gets exclusive rights to your song[s] is a bonified royalty music publisher, with whom you must assign your copyright for a specified time period. [not subsidy publishers & record labels ie: ones who charge you to produce your songs]

***********************

To whom it may concern.
RE: Claim ID Number: 187674 [songwriter of the most yodeling songs]

Please terminate my world record attempt with your organization. In reading your “AGREEMENT REGARDING RECORD ATTEMPT” I have noticed in Section 4. Materials: Sub-section 4.4 that you want me to grant GWR “an exclusive, free licence in perpetuity to use such Material in connection with the publishing and marketing of GWR…” Sub-section 4.5 that I would have to “agree to waive unconditionally all moral rights owned by you in relation to any Materials submitted to GWR… GWR has no obligation to identufy you as the author or creator of any such materials… you will have no right to object to the manner in which GWR treats those Materials.” I will NOT grant you an exclusive right to my copyrighted material, or allow you to ignore me as the author/creator of such.

Mike Johnson, Roughshod Records P.O. Box 100933, Arlington, Va. 22210
